* What is a DENIER?

DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the thread used to make stockings and tights.

The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or tight. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker it is and the less visible the skin.

There are also opaque microfiber tights and pantyhose, from 50 and 100 den, where the skin is barely visible. Their use is common in the autumn-winter period.

Tights and pantyhose with a low DEN number are normally used for the spring-summer season. The rest can be used all year round, for example for ceremonies, as the thinness of the stockings makes them more elegant.

High numbers (40, 70...) are usually used for autumn-winter.
